Physiotherapist
Ancy Thobani, a registered physiotherapist who received a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Western Ontario and a B.Sc. in Physiotherapy from Daemen College in New York State. She brings in over 7 years of clinical experience in both cardiorespiratory and orthopedic settings. From 2001 through 2008, she worked as a senior physiotherapist at Toronto General Hospital with specialization in areas of Thoracic, Cardiac and Vascular surgery, Multi-Organ Transplant, and in the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit. During her tenure there, she received the Wightman-Berris Academy Individual Teaching Award from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto.
In the private sector, she has extensive experience working at private clinics and has concentrated on treating musculoskeletal conditions and injuries, and correcting movement dysfunction by using manual and exercise techniques. Her rehabilitation goals are set with patients to allow them to achieve a full return to activities, sport and work.
Her teaching experience includes appointments as a Clinical Instructor for University of Toronto, McMaster University, McGill University, SUNY Buffalo and the University of Michigan. She also holds a Status-only appointment as Lecturer at the University of Toronto.
